A new Master certification is coming

As part of the “Franco-Ivorian Educational Hub,” a collaboration was launched between the UniversitĂ© Jean Lourougnon GuĂ©dĂ© (UJLoG) in Daloa, CĂ´te d’Ivoire, and the University of Toulouse (UT). Throughout 2025, funding obtained through the Hub enabled in-person and remote workshops to be held in Toulouse and Daloa. These workshops aimed to establish a new master’s program at UJLoG titled “Atmosphere-Climate-Environment – ACE.”

Véronique Pont and Dominique Serça from LAERO visited Daloa from January 17 to 22, 2025, as part of this initiative. During this mission, the curriculum and syllabi for the program were finalized, with the economic model currently being completed. The entire master’s project will first be submitted in February 2026 to the French Embassy, which manages the Franco-Ivorian Hub. As part of the future accreditation of UT programs, a request for a dual-degree agreement will be submitted to the Education and University Life Commissions of both universities during 2026.

The ACE master’s program, particularly its “Climate and Environmental Dynamics” track, will be linked to the “Sciences of the Ocean, Atmosphere, and Climate” program at LAERO. The first cohort of 20-25 M1 students could be welcomed in Daloa as early as the 2027 academic year. In the long term, Ivorian students from the ACE master’s program in Daloa will have the opportunity to spend a semester or a year in Toulouse as part of their studies. Conversely, Toulouse students from the SOAC master’s program will also have the chance to study for one or two semesters in Daloa.

An ERASMUS+ mobility project, led by UT, will be submitted to the European Union in February 2026. If approved, it will facilitate these student exchanges, as well as exchanges among faculty from both teaching teams. This international partnership between the universities of Daloa and Toulouse has also fostered collaboration among specialists in Atmosphere, Climate, and Environment from other Ivorian university centers.
