LAERO is part of the NAWDIC campaign

The NAWDIC campaign is drawing near! See you in February in Shannon, Ireland ☘️☔🍺

LAERO will contribute to this international project to better understand the origin of wind gusts in North Atlantic storms through aircraft measurements, ground-based observations, and at-sea data collection as part of the DICHOTOMI project, funded by the ANR (French National Research Agency) and the DFG (German Research Foundation). The goal of DICHOTOMI is to improve our understanding of the formation of strong winds and gusts in storms, as well as the respective roles of atmospheric and surface conditions.

At LAERO, the NAWDIC-DICHOTOMI activities are led by Florian Pantillon. In addition to him, Sophia Brumer, Johan Hedman, Ferran Lopez Marti, and Nicolas Maury from the Dynamique research team will participate in the campaign.
