The CORSiCA Platform for Atmospheric Observations (PCOA), operated by the Laboratoire d’Aérologie, is deployed across about fifteen sites in Corsica. It addresses various research themes explored by multiple European-recognized laboratories specializing in meteorology, air quality, and climate change. The platform aims to enhance our understanding of the environmental dynamics of the western Mediterranean basin under the pressure of global change, in order to predict its future evolution.
The primary objective is to advance knowledge in atmospheric physics and chemistry, directly linked to climate. The main research themes include intense meteorological events, precipitation, lightning, air pollution, greenhouse gases, fine particles, and more.
